So you’re visiting Belgrade!
Belgrade is a great choice for a weekend getaway. The city offers crazy nightlife, friendly people, cheap food and drinks! And there’s also a lot of history to see!
Here’s my list of favorites!
Best place to get that Austro-Hungarian feeling in Belgrade is the Gardos Tower in Zemun. It was built and officially opened in 1896 to celebrate a thousand years of Hungarian settlement in the Pannonian Plain. It offers a great view to the city.
Best riblja corba (fish soup) you can eat in Paša restaurant in Zemun.
Best restaurant to feel like in a children’s book is Lorenzo & Kakalamba.
Best place for fine dining in a cool atmosphere are restaurants in Beton hala. There are more restaurants there, but my favorite is Ambar.
Best urban place to eat and have some drinks in the evening is Endorfin Gastro Pub in Dorcol.
Cool place to have coffee is OK.no bar in Obelicev venac. It’s a retro style bar with a constant exhibition of Nenad Marjanovic works, a famous photographer. Interesting fact – there are two toilet seats in womens bathroom, in one bathroom :)))
Best ’pljeskavica’ (or hamburger) you can find at Loki. Loki is an urban legend, he built the business during the nineties, in a kiosk that went expanding during the years. Now it is located in a building in Dorcol at the intersection of Kralja Petra and Gospodar Jovanova, near the place where the kiosk were standing before.
Pljeskavica is a grilled dish of spiced meat patty mixture of pork, beef and lamb. It’s a national dish of Serbia that you must try!
Cool places to go out are Gvozdjara, Mladost, Ludost and Radost but also many others.
A must visit place for tourists is Kalemegdan, Belgrade Fortress, situated on the confluence of the river Sava and Danube. It is the most visited tourist attraction in Belgrade.
Second must visit tourist attraction is Skadarlija, a vintage street in the Old town. It is considered a bohemian quarter of Belgrade.
All these recommendations are not sponsored, those are just my personal favorite places to have some good time in Belgrade!
